Help and Support - Setting Up Your Invoice Layout

Stone Hill Invoicer has an integrated layout editor, letting you have as much control over your layout and font as if you'd used a word processor to make your invoices. You can open this layout editor by using the "Template Editor" menu item in the "View" menu.

Choose where data goes on the page by typing in placeholders, which are then substituted for the actual values in every invoice. The placeholders are:

%companyName - Your company name

%companyAddress - Your company address

%invoiceNumber - Your invoice number

%invoiceDate - The date on which your invoice is sent

%dueDate - The date on which your invoice is due

%billTo - The name and address of the company or person to bill to

%shipTo - The name and address of the company or person to ship to

%notes - The contents of the notes field

%subtotal - The sum of the invoice items, not including tax, shipping, or amounts already paid

%shipping - The amount billed to ship

%stateTax - The amount of money added for state or provincial taxes

%federalTax - The amount of money added for federal taxes

%paid - The amount that has already been paid on the invoice

%balance - The amount which is due

In addition to the regular tokens, a set of tokens is available to show the items in your inventory. These items must be on the same row of a table in order to show correctly on the final invoice.

%sku - The Stock Keeping Unit identifier for the product

%quantity - How many of the product are billed for

%item - The name of the product

%description - A small description of the product

%taxable - An indication of if the item is taxable or not

%price - How much each unit of the item costs

%total - How much all the units of the item cost (quantity x price)

You can add a logo to the layout simply by dragging an image from the Finder.
